Mountain Bike Adventure, Oaxaca-México
Join us in this amazing Mountain Bike Trip throughout the best trails and most authentic destinations México has to offer. During this trip, you will enjoy a once in a lifetime experience designed to thrill you, in which every detail has been taken into consideration with one goal in mind: having a blast on and off the bike.
México has some of the best natural singletrack trails in the world, and is one of the MTB world’s best kept secrets. In this trip, you will ride everything from raw, natural pre hispanic singletrack, to flowy trails with modern, man made obstacles. And the food, do we even have to mention the food? México has one of the world’s most unique and authentic traditional cuisine, and we’re not talking about just tacos. We’ll visit and ride through autonomous indigenous communities that are always pleased to host us and share their richness with us, their traditions, their food, and of course, their trails. No fake touristy towns here, you’re up to a real Mexican experience.
For this trip, your English speaking, trail ripping guides will help you out on and off the bike with everything you need, starting from the airport, where they will pick you up and make sure you don’t have to worry about anything that doesn’t include the word FUN in it. This is a one of a kind, bespoke adventure where attention to your needs and customer service is a priority, in which every day you will ride new trails in one of the most culturally rich and amazing towns of México: Oaxaca.
Oaxaca’s Sierra Norte hosts 3 big zones with amazing trails: Ixtepeji, Llano Grande and Etla, and we’ll ride all of them, even the secret ones. We’ve planned 14 amazing, mostly shuttled rides for you, with more than 26 thousand feet, combined descending. Oaxaca has great Cross Country rides if you are looking for a more pedal adventure.
Getting there and around:
We’ll pick you up in Oaxaca´s International airport, build bikes, store bike bags and get ready to ride. We’ll head straight to Oaxaca’s Sierra Norte and we will stay at a beautiful town high in the Sierra where cozy cabins, and a delicious welcome dinner will be ready for you, complete with homemade, handmade artisan bread, REAL hot chocolate, and Oaxacan traditional dishes (everything is organic up there), while your guides build up and set up your bikes for you (unless you want to do it yourselves).
We will ride the 3 different regions of the Sierra Norte, and in each one, we will stay at bike-friendly traditional adobe cabins in the middle of the thick Sierra forest, complete with a fireplace, roomy bathroom, a shower with hot water, and a porch with hand sewed hammocks. These places are run by the autonomous indigenous communities and are an amazing experience by themselves. We’ll ride a wide variety of ancient trails, some of them are full of natural jumps, berms, and flow, some are steep and loose, some have a ton of tight, steep switchbacks and a lot of them have everything just mentioned. We’ll throw some fun and games on and off the bike to the mix, more party trains than a subway station, some mezcal, and all the cold cervezas you can handle!
Oaxaca is one of the most culturally rich towns in the world, and on this day we’ll take you to all the good spots: Breakfast at the local market, followed by the ancient ruins of Monte Alban and then we’ll head to Plaza de Santo Domingo for lunch. We leave the afternoon free for you to buy souvenirs and sombreros, and later that night we’ll have a goodbye dinner in one of the best restaurants in town.
After a full week filled with thrills and let’s hope not any (serious) spills, it’s time to have more fun, this time off the bike. We’ll head to our hotel in downtown Oaxaca and we’ll get ready for some Mexican Style Partying, where your party expert guides will make sure you have as much fun as you can handle.
